Rihanna – “Where Have You Been” inspired makeup look

I recreated this red and black smokey eye look, which was one of the makeup looks Rihanna wore in her music video for “Where Have You Been”. I used my 88 eyeshadow palette for the eyes and on my lips I’m wearing Elf’s Natural Nymph mixed with Lumene’s Pink Nude.

Most worn things tag – Summer edition

I decided to do the Most Worn Things Tag – summer edition, after seeing a lot of people on YouTube doing this tag. I really enjoy watching these videos, and I thought I’d do the tag as a blog post and share my favorite things!

This was kind of hard for me since I always like to switch up my beauty products as well as fashion pieces, but here’s the things that I’ve been retching for the most:

Most worn nail polish:
I’ve been wearing these nail polishes a lot this summer, I absolutely love the vibrant colours! The brand of this polish is a random brand that I’ve never heard of, but I got it from Coop Forum for only 10kr!!

Beauty basics – False eyelash application

I love false eyelashes, I always wear them whenever I wear makeup. However they can be very tricky to apply sometimes. Here’s how I apply my false eyelashes:

Before the application you should start by measuring your false lashes to insure that they fit your eyeshape. If they’re to long, cut them to fit your eyeshape.

20120821-195623.jpg

1.Apply a thin layer of glue to the flash lash line.

2.When the adhesive is on, take a tweezer and grab the lash in the center. Then wait 30-40sek and to let glue get tacky, this is the most important step. When the glue is tacky it will stick to your lash line.

3.Place the lash as close to your lash line as possible, making sure that the outer and inner corners of the lash are in place up against your lash line.

4.Apply some mascara to your gorgeous lashes, to make your own lashes blend in with the false eyelash. And that’s it!

Remember that lashes are reusable, so make sure to keep the case they come in so you have place to store them.

20120821-195950.jpg

The lashglue that I use is Lash Grip by Ardell. It comes out white but it drys clear, which I prefer rather than using black adhesive that can mess up the eyeshadows. Another thing that I like about this glue is that it it’s waterproof so it keeps my lashes in place all day.

Applying falsh eyelashes takes practice so don’t get upset if you don’t get it right the first time. Hope it helps!

Beauty basics – winged eyeliner

A lot of people struggle to achieve the perfect winged eyeliner, it takes a lot of practice. There’s different ways to get your winged eyeliner looking perfect, this is how I do my eyeliner:

20120818-221306.jpg

1. Start on the centre of your lid, tracing a line towards the outer corner.

2. Start working the product in towards the inner corner of your lid, keeping the line as close to the lash line as possible. The line should be thinner in the innercorner and thicker towards the outer corner.

3. Now for the wing. Keep your eye open and start from the bottom corner of your lid tracing a line outwards.

4.Connect the wing with line on your outer corner, and fill in the liner.

That’s it! Always make thin light strokes and make the line thicker as you go along, and remember practice makes perfection.

Hope it helps!
